A DOT number is a number that is assigned to you by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration or FMCSA in order to register your commercial vehicles. The registration for getting a DOT number is free, but the official website of FMCSA will ask you to enter your credit card number in order to verify your identity.
Register your DOT number if you:
1) Driving the commercial vehicle on interstate routes🚛
2) Using a vehicle that weight more than 10,000 pounds🚚
3) Transporting 15 passengers for compensating👤
4) Transporting Hazardous Material🧨
