Hello!
My name is Tylor and it is Truck Dispatcher Training. Today I am going to tell you how a safety manager can monitor driver violations. I want to start with a real story. DOT Inspection had pulled our driver over and after that they had found some violations. Can you believe the driver didn’t tell the safety manager about an inspection and in addition he had driven with a log book off. As a result of the second inspection the company was put out of service.
In this case I want to explain how the safety manager can monitor violations even if the driver doesn’t tell them about it and more importantly how to protect the company against bad effects.
First step is basic instructions before employment, potential drivers must know their rules, responsibilities and rights in the company and don’t forget to warn that drivers must tell safety manager about DOT inspections and send DOT inspection reports.
Second step when you are a diligent safety manager and a driver was instructed but you still don’t think the driver sends a DOT inspection report. Then open a safer portal – here companies have personal accounts and it updates the information every 24 hours. There you can find information about inspections, accidents, and other types of roadside inspections, which are related to your DOT. In this way, you will know every inspection of your company.
That’s all for today. Don’t forget to subscribe to our channel. And if you have any questions – write in the comments. See you again.
